To the extent possible under law the faculty and other employees of Stanford University who are associated with the NASA sponsored Solar Dynamics Obsrevatory (SDO) Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) and Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) Joint Science Operations Center (JSOC) Science Data Processing (SDP) data products have waived all copyright and related neighboring rights to data stored and distributed from JSOC data series names sdo.X, hmi.X, and aia.X where X is any specific data identifier as well as any images or movies found on the JSOC web site unless explicitly declared otherwise.

The SDO HMI/AIA JSOC adheres to the NASA SDO data rules available at https://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/data/rules.php
While not required it is requested that use of data or images from the SDO JSOC properly attributes the source of the images or data as: "Courtesy of NASA/SDO and the AIA and HMI science teams."
