NetDRMS Release Notes
Version 6.0
Significant changes since
Release 2.7
- All references to the Perl SWIG interface to SUMS have been removed from
the make system
- The database-user owner of the series database table is the only user
who can reduce a data record's disk cache retention time. Previously, any
db user who could write (i.e., insert into) to the series database table
was able to reduce the retention time for individual records.
- libDRMS now calls SUM_infoArray() instead of SUM_infoEx() to obtain
per-SU information. This call should be several times faster than SUM_infoEx().
- unpublish_series.sh was ported to a perl script (unpublish.pl)
that can be run in the background. unpublish_series.sh cannot be run
in the background. Due to periodic long run times, this script needs to
be run in the background.
- We implemented some Perl subroutines, in subscribe_series.pl, to popluate
the jmd queue from a just-subscribed-to series, and to install a
jmd-queue-populating trigger on this just-subscribed-to series.
- Increased the maximum number of open fits files allowed in libDRMS to
300 to match the limnit imposed by libcfitsio.
- We eliminated the sum_rm start from NetDRMS.
- Numerous bug fixes
