HMI Pipeline Module - PolarFieldExtrapolation

Extrapolate polar field from past observation and/or low latitude data to fill in the missing data at the polar region of a synoptic map. The output is a complete synoptic map.

Issues needing resolution
  • MDI temporal extrapolation scheme does not apply as no HMI polar observations are available at the beginning of the mission. Need cross calibration for the possible use of MDI polar data for estimation or perhaps develop a new method.
